Anika Noi Rose Anika Noi Rose, an American actress and performer, is known for her performance as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog. Most famously, she is the voice of Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the first African American Disney Princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. Rose was the Oscar-winning actress who played Lorrell in Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born September 6 on the 6th of September, 1973. She is an American actress and a singer. Her most well-known role is in the role of Tiana the first Disney African American princess, in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends featured her as one of them in 2011. She also has a starring performance, in the role of Lorrell Robinson, in Dreamgirls (2006) which received nominations for the Academy Award. And she plays LaVerne jukebox Ganner on Starz's series Power. Her name has been praised for her theatre performances, which include her lead role on the stage in Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway for which her Tony Award was won for Best Actress in Musical.
